Keep that preventive maintenance up and maybe you’ll get over 200,000 on it like I did in my 84 capricegot 67k on my 79 305 but always changed oil and filter every 5k,no smoke at all
Or rip it out and put in a 454.
He’s in Germany do they have tooling for small block Chevy’s in Germany
What you‘ve seen is totally correct. We have strict requirements here...every 2 Years you have to make a „government tech check“ called Hauptuntersuchung. Also the classic ones...Everything! would be checked...rust holes, lights, bushings , emissions, belts, modifications, brakes, tires a.s.o...and you (hopefully) get the approval sticker for the next 2 yrs. on your license plate...if something is bad, you have to fix it in 4 weeks an show up again or pay a fine if they pull you over. When your involved in a crash without a valid sticker you‘re f****d 😒I was watching a Mighty Car Mods video a while back about them tinkering with a new VW Golf in Germany. Essentially, unless a specific part has an official marking from the government, it cannot be legally used on the car. Every car has inspections, and if you get caught with a car on the road that is lowered, wrong type of wheels, wrong size tires, etc, it can be impounded or worse. Now, that is just what I gathered from their video. I don't know about the regulations on older cars, much less american imports. If getting new heads and/or swapping engines isn't an issue, save up for a 350 and a th350 transmission and have a nice little cruiser. idk if Goodwrench engines are available in germany, but they have a nice little 290hp 9:1 (I think) crate engine for around $3,000 USD.
