307 runs when it wants, is it running too rich?

Normally, the hose from the PCV port on the carb fits to top nipple and the other end fits into a rubber grommet in the valve cover. Also, normally you don't have the second nipple, it is just a flat bottom with a hole in it. This hole is partially blocked with the internal mechanism that acts like a check valve. What's throwing you, and honestly me, is the 2nd nipple, almost looks like an inline fuel filter.

O.k., original hot-air choke. Again, will need to hook up choke, like a switched 12V (you don't want to choke on constantly), and no, DO NOT hook it up to the HEI distributor, regulate the fuel pressure then tackle carb adjustments.

Ok guys update I rechecked the fuel pressure it stayed steady at 4psi, the I wired the choke, then my carb was adjusted and fine tuned. Still in will not run for more than 10 minutes without stalling! Considering getting a Edelbrock 650 carb I'm starting to think that the carb is too big for that small motor. Any thoughts?

The fuel pressure and choke wiring are a good start. I don't think your Quadrajet is too "big". That's what your engine had from the factory. The jetting may be off though.
Are you positive that you have a carb problem and not something on the ignition side? If your carb is running that rich, it'd be billowing black smoke from the exhaust. Have you checked your spark with an adjustable tester? Your coil should be putting out at least 30kV. Since the problem seems to be after it runs for a while (heats up) it makes me wonder. Failing ignition modules can cause similar problems too.
I'm not saying your carb ISN'T the problem but I'd hate to see you spend the money if it isn't the cause of the problem. Be sure the ignition system is solid first. Do you know anyone who has a carb you can borrow?

I check the exhaust, no black smoke at all. Also I have a Accel super coil ontop of a MSD cap & rotor but the distributor is from Pepboys, I think that may be the problem.

Well after a while of constant troubleshooting, I figured it may be the remand distributor. So I have a brand new one on the way, I will keep every posted.
