alright thanks for all the info i got one more question....as mentioned before am i going to be able to do the non ccc dist and carb....does it matter weather i have a lockup or a torque converter....

The computer controls the lockup converter based on TPS, RPM, and road speed. Without the ECM, you need a different method for locking the converter if you want to use it.

What would i need to fix that? Is a difficult thing to do?

well you need to figure out if there is a locking converter or not. If there is need to know what transmission. Then you need to order the apropriate retro-fit kit. availible through companies like TCI, Painless, et cetera .... but you need to look for this BEFORE you start orderring things.

alright i believe i have the 200-r4 how do i figure out about the converter

If it's a 200-4R, it has a lockup converter. There should be a square, four pin plug on the driver's side of the trans. Usually only 2 or 3 of the pins are used.

Can u send me links on these retrofit kits...have u ever installed one is it hard?

www.google.com

Try typing in "converter lockup kit"

And just to clarify, ALL automatic transmission have a torque converter. I know a few of your questions sounded like you were wondering if there was a converter at all.

Stay away from the TCI lockup kit. Its absolute garbage and doesn't work properly in my experience.

The B&M kit works much better but it comes with a higher price as well.

Thanks to all that helped very appreciated! This sucks outta cash. do i have to have this wiring harness right away because it sounds like its only for 4 gear like in highway driving.probably stupid question but im new to all this and like ive said its my 1st swap.thank

You can drive the car without the lockup function working. My Custom Cruiser has been that way for a year now.
