OD is independent of lockup operation .... the lockup is just as the name sounds .... when your car is tooling down the highway it keeps the converter from slipping ... it's not a "gear" but it does help with gas mileage .... you CAN run it open, but I think it would pay for itself within the first year.

Ok well im not going to putting the retro-fit kit in right away(broke right now) probably get it in 2 weeks is the b&m kit hard to install with the engine in? Im a noob but wanna learn the ways...Thanks you guys are very helpful

u just need to drop the transmission pan and hook up the harness. rest of harness is wired to the dash or what.
Probably good time do change out transmission filter 🙂
