Gotcha. Well like I said make sure you can even use it. You should have a one piece seal crank. They make two styles for a small block chevy. They wont interchange in your block.

OH I SEE!! got ya....i can ck with the number on it right.....thanks for the heads up....

^^What he said^^. That's why a factory 400 crank won't work in your block. On the cam, I'd just go with a hydraulic flat tappet. Your block is not cast/machined for a factory roller cam. The roller cam retrofit kits are really expensive. Not really worth the extra expense on a mild street motor with the heads you have IMHO.

i feel you....so much to learn,...lol 😛

You don't need to check the number they are visually and physically different.
The one on the left is a one piece seal crank. The one of the right is a 2 piece seal crank.

The back of your block should have a seal holder similar to this bolted to it.

I am curious though, I have been told the switch to one piece seal cranks was in 86 and your engine number matches that year. Let me know if it isn't though. I have heard some people saying some 86's came with the old style crank. Your block also doesn't even have the bosses for the roller lifter spyder. I know they are not drilled in all of them but every one piece seal engine I have seen has the bosses. So let me know what crank you have please.

OK perfect thanks for that info...But is that good or bad, having a one piece crank? not enough power?
