i think im a pick up a sbc from a guy here in town and just put vortec heads on the mother fu**** maybe a nice cam and thats it i think that would get me to 300 ponies and maybe some headers

Saint, take it slow do some more research before buying that kit, your going to get a cam and lifters you might not even want so you can save money there. Since you already have a good runnning engine save up and go with a Roller cam that way you dont have to worry about the oil you use because trust me it gets very expensive. And if you dont break it in right you can send metal all over the whole engine and ruin all the new parts you bought. For break in oil and for the first oil change after the break in I spent about $120 and I add about half a bottle of the cam additve every oil change. Thats already half way to a good roller cam that will last longer and you dont have to use expensive oil.

Yea looking at those kits they come with a cam and lifter's huh. I called the place were they had them for sale and they do sell the kit WithOut the cam and lifters, for like $40-$50 buck cheaper..so thats good and i will be paying about $190 shipped some where around there....so then i can choose a Cam of my choose.. Good looking out...

But can u tell me what kinda Roller cam im going to need for 350 bored 0.30 with the lifters? keeping same crank. if its not to much for u to search? mild cam...nothing crazy..nice clean chopping sound..

im not that smart yet bro, im still a youngster  I will try and help the best I can...

First what are you going to do with the heads? have them milled? ported? or if your just going to clean them up, see if the machine shop can give you the cumbustion chamber size for the heads your going to use. (Don't get springs or rockers yet they depend on the cam.)

once you know that. then you need to find out if your block is going to clean up with just a 0.30 over bore, and based on the cc's of the heads and the over bore we can help you pick the pistons you need and figure out your compression ratio.

One we find out your esimated C.R. then we can help you pick a good cam and the right springs, lifters, and rockers. So dont just buy anything yet all the parts depend on each other so do one thing at a time, you already started with the right first step

theres alot of people on here that know more about this stuff then me so hopefully more people will chime in, and we'll help you do it right 8)
I'll p.m you my number if you need any help hit me up, oh i'll have your dvd ready this weekend i just need to burn it now

NICE!!! great info....I hope this DvD will help me out...so that i dont have to ask so many questions on the forum..lmao

heads are just going to get cleaned and bored over 0.30

asking questions is how you learn, dont be shy  for every question you ask theres another million poeple that want to ask the same thing

so rather then make your decisions do you want to go roller (expensive) or flat tappet (cheap)? both will work fine you just have to make sure your really careful with the flat tappet and break it in right,

Might be a flat tappet or we will see as the build goes....i will forsure brake it in carefully...im going to take my time with the next build..
