posting pics???

How do I post pics? I am used to using the browse button at the bottom of the post. Sorry for being computor ignorant.

Well I finally got back on this engine/transmission swap. I had about a month there where it seemed like I couldn't put two consecutive minutes together to work on my stuff. I have the motor almost ready to go in and I just got the old 5hp motor out. I've taken some pics of it but I don't know how to post images on here.[/img]

Well, the motor and transmission are finally in. I took the day off today and got it in. It looks like I will need to get about 2 inches cut out of the drive shaft, And I also found that I have some existing frame damage that needs tending to before I fab the crossmember in. It looks sweet sittin in there, I've spent a lot of time on details to try to make it look like factory.
I am going to have to figure out how to get my pics posted.

Go to the NEW photo album link at the top of the page and get your self an album started. There is a how to around here some wheres. I just played around with it till i figured it out.

Sounds like it will be running pretty soon. How did you do your fuel lines?

Randy

I don't have the fuel ines buttoned up yet, but I am planning on connecting the OE lines on the car to the rubber part of the OE lines left on the motor. When the eng/transmission came out of the Vette the guy that pulled it left about two inches of the rubber part on the steel pipes that bolt to the fuel rail. I am hoping that the stock fuel lines on the car are large enough :?: I was getting about 17 mpg with the 307 on the highway, I am expecting at least low 20's with the TPI. As far as the fuel pump is concerned, I am going to mount that in the rear near the tank and rubber hose it to the existing lines. I can't wait to hear this thing run 😀

I can help you on your fuel lines if you wish. I can make fuel lines(the metal lines) that you can connect to the factory style rubber lines and run up through the frame like the factory lines already are on your car.

Your vette engine has the fuel lines routed to the passenger side correct? If so that will make this real easy for you.

All of your rubber lines will need to be replaced, at least on the pressure side as the stock hose will not hold the pressure, you will need to talk to your parts store about getting you some Fuel Injection rubber hose.

Are you going to run a pump in the tank like the factory TBI g-bodys and turbo regals?

If you need any help let me know.

Randy

Well I finally got some progress made. The fuel lines were simple, I just got some EFI fuel hose and connected my original fuel lines to the hard lines on the motor. In the rear I just removed the factory rubber hose that conects the tank side pipe to the body side pipe and ran the new hose from the pump straight into the body side pipe. Then I looped a new rubber hose from the tank side pipe to the pump with a filter along the way. I finally got all the wiring ran inside the car to the computer and I think all the connections finished.
I tried starting it the other night and had some gremlins to work out. I found out that I had a plug wire loose, and the shifting linkage wasn't quite right. I got those two worked out and it still wouldn't start. After some more looking I realized that the fuel lines were backwards on the motor. Fixed that and it still wouldn't start. I came to the conclusion that the injectors weren't working. A couple days later with advise from a few mechanics and I decided to install a set of Camaro injectors that I had from another TPI setup that I had E-bayed for the wiring. Voila! It fired right up and ran great! I didn't have the nose back on then yet so I couldn't run it long without coolant. I just set the nose on today and hope to get it driveable soon. I still plan on reinstalling the Corvette fuel injectors this winter some time when I get them cleaned up, but for now I am just glad to hear it run. Very loud, no mufflers yet.

Hey, I drove it home! It still needs some tunin' and I don't have all the accessories hooked up yet, but hey, who needs an alternator right?
I'll see if I can get my pics to work, the last time I tried I had file error on my disc.
