I'd like to know what bushings you guys used with the 36mm hollow front sway bar...and if you have a part # available.
I tried using the F-body bushings and brackets, but of course I had to elongate the F-body brackets to line up with the mounting holes. It sorta fits, but I'm not 100% satisfied with them. The F-body bushings do not fit in the brackets for the 32mm bushings.
The outside diameter would have to be the same, or close to the 32mm bushings.

I just ordered a 34 mm sway bar myself and my reading suggested just to buy the fbody bushings (whether it be the 34 or 36 mm) and they will work the stock gbody frame brackets.

I have a 34 mm sway, bushings, and brackets out of a F-body. The F-body brackets won't fit on a G frame and the F-body 34mm bushings don't fit in my G body brackets. I think the problem may be that since my car was originally a V6, it came with smaller sway bars with smaller sway bar brackets than the higher powered G bodies had. I have heard before G bodies that came with thicker sway bars have larger brackets.

Thanks Peter,
Comparing the F-body brackets with my old Energy Suspension (32mm) brackets, the stock F-body brackets are taller besides the bolt pattern being wider. Being that the F-body brackets are taller, the bushing is larger around. Perhaps the 36mm urethane bushing has a smaller diameter.
I don't have the original G-body brackets to compare.

I have seen a kit on Summit Racing that is complete with greaseable mounting bushings and end links. It lists it for a Chevy pickup.
I'm just not sure of the brackets and length of end links.

Thanks Tie,
I'd like to be able to reuse my aftermarket 32mm brackets if possible, or else just purchase new bushings with mounting brackets. The F-body brackets that I have, I modified (elongated) the mounting holes. They are a bit larger than the G-body aftermarket brackets. But they're made to accommodate a larger diameter bushing.

The V-6 sway bar and bushings are significantly smaller. I've been using a 32mm(1.25") GN sway bar prior to going with the 36mm bar. The 32mm sway bar is the largest stock sway bar for a G-body car.

I'm using the 36mm hollow bar with the stock g-body mount. The bushings I ordered at O'Reilly's were for a Trans AM (can't remember the year) with the WS6 option. The bushings I got were McQuay-Norris, part no. FA7189. These bushings were also urethane. I suppose they came from factory that way also.

Hey Jack check these out. I was thinking about ordering a set.( I just need to get my lazy butt out in the garage and actually measure my bar).
It came out of a 91 Firebird Formula. Right now it is mounted with the Stock El Camino brackets and the rubber F-Body bushings.

There is a thread on this for F-body to G-body sway bar swap........the ones I ordered where the 9.5168R greasable by Energy Suspensions.........which is listed by some as 35mm and by others as 34mm......and has been used and recommended by some here.....but I have since then found out they have a 36.5mm 9.5175 which would be slightly loose which to me would make a lot suspension noise especially if not greasable.......I went with 35mm for the snug fit and on all the G-body sites this is what most have choose to use or at least at the time I got my parts.....

Thanks man!
I appreciate that information. So these bushings fit right in, huh? That's good news. I'll check into that.
