Yeah, the original balance shop can't do it, it needs weight added. It is going to Percise Engine Rebuilders for internal balancing.
I remember it being pretty expensive to add the mallory to the crank. Hopefully they do you right for the inconvenience.Yeah, the original balance shop can't do it, it needs weight added. It is going to Percise Engine Rebuilders for internal balancing.
My dad had an old 454 crank that had steel plates welded to the counterweights to internally balance it. This was in the early 80’s.I remember it being pretty expensive to add the mallory to the crank. Hopefully they do you right for the inconvenience.
Why exactly did you go for internally balanced?Yeah, if I could be Captain Hindsight, I would have sent my 330 crank to Mark, ate his block core charge and had him build it. Hopefully it isn't too horrendous of a cost.
I’ve actually never seen it done other than with malloryMark figures two slugs is the usual. What is the usual weight for slugs. I thought the guy said 120 grams? and was two much for the lead and frost plug their shop used. I would rather have welded in slugs that the other shop uses.
