New update. I'm thinking of cutting coils next weekend. My plan is take both front and back down 1.5 or 2". I will probably just cut the front coils next weekend if everything lines up. I'm thinking wagon springs for the back, as I can cut those to get desired height.

The tires/wheel combo will be olds rallies...14"s with 215 up front, and 15" with 255 on the back. There shouldn't be any rubbing issues from what I've read. Need to locate some wagon springs.....

Just another update. Got more of the trunk carpet in, I'm about halfway done now. Check out my photo album, I just uploaded a pic 🙂

I'm going to need another rool of carpet, hard to buy with no money  . Car insurance and no winter job= no car $. Just applied at BK....let the fun begin.

Recent find!!!

While driving back from a friends house, I spotted a cutlass off to the side of a small dealership in a line of other wrecked cars along the woods. I couldnt see the front of it, but it didn't looked like it was wrecked or anything. White with origional wire hubcaps. So I took down the phone # from their sign, and called a few days later.

The guy said it was a florida car, left in a warehouse, so he got it real cheap. I asked him about parts, he told me he had to wait for the salvage title to transfer over. He wasn't sure what it had as a motor, but I asked if it had buckets and the console, he said yeah. He said around mid-march give him a call back and he'll "treat me good" on the seats and console. It also has the all-white reverse lights, so I might grab other parts like that and maybe trim.

He said the interior is either charcoal grey or black, mine is brown. Is there any die that matches the olds brown that you guys know of?

We had a little break from the winter here in Pa. I'm getting real excited about finally getting this thing on the road 😀 can't wait

I'd just get the whole gray interior. The brown is not really desireable

I was thinking about that, but wasnt too sure about how to remove the dash, looks like a lot of work.

Taking out the dash isn't as bad as you might think, I've done a couple now... Though I'll admit I was a bit intimidated by it at first as well.

Hmmmm... Not sure though. Grey would look kind of funky with the brown vinyl and paint though. I might still get the buckets and console though. If I don't use them I can sell 'em.

Plus my parents don't want me spending any more money on my car, and I don't have a job, yet... gotta save up some secret car money. shhhh...

Spotted another cutlass in town at the back of a small dealership. nothin special. all Blue no vinyl, bench seat, rally wheels. But it does have the all-white reverse lights with the red stripe in awesome condition.

Yeah, on second thought, grey interior may not go the best with your nice new brown paint...

I say get the buckets and console and seatbelts if you can.

SEM makes a good vinyl trim paint and if you find a close color match will look great on the console.

A little update 😀

I got a drivers side inner fender (the metal inner-fender) from the junkyard today, $20 (not bad). Hardly any rust at all. I'm going to have to be extra careful when installing it on my car with the new paint and all.
-Sorry, I forgot to grab one of those stainless pieces for the front bumper cover. <<I forgot who asked.

I also found a pair of all-white reverse lights, no cracks $10 each.
I'm going to get a non a/c heater box soon as well, $20.
I'm grabbing lots of parts lately because the owner of the junkyard is crushing everything before next winter. (I saved those lights from a cutlass on death row. good timing  )

I'm almost finished with my trunk carpeting. Take a look in my photos, I just uploaded a pic. I'm still deciding on whether to keep the spare tire in the trunk and make a carpet cover for it, or cut a piece of plywood for over the tire well and just cover that. let me know what you guys think. (The plywood would make the whole trunk bottom flat) this whole carpet thing only cost me $18 compared to $149 for the kit at g bod parts

The car that supposedly had buckets and a console actually had bench seats. That was a downer, but it does have rally gauges 😀 . the guy wants $40 for them. I guess it's a pretty reasonable price.

Still searching around for the last addition to complete the f-41 package on my car, (besides the springs)the quick ratio steering box.

The car should be on the road pretty soon!!!! 😀

That was me... No worries, but if you think of it next time you're there, that'd be awesome!
