does the electric fuel pump have to be in the tank, or can it be outside the tank. I'm not sure if the monte has the tank though, I'll have to check.

It will be an in-tank pump.

Seeing as you already have it on there, it looks pretty good, but the rear of the trim more closely matches the ornament base.

In the picture, the piece on the left is the front of the hood molding, the piece in the center is the rear of the molding. See how the end of it is kind of squared off to match the ornament? It boils down to a matter of preference, but figured I'd post it up for fun/educational purposes.

Jeesh, I never really noticed how crappy my ornament looks until this picture... oh well, guess it works out that I was gonna get rid of it anyways...

Ohhhhh I see now, I din't think much of it when you suggested that I just thought well, the front should match the hood ornament because they are right near each other. I might go grab the back piece off that cutlass next time.

What I am saying is you can grab the tank especially if it has the baffle and the in tank hanger so that you can cheaply easily upgrade to a superior in tank electric. Instead of haveing to do a sump or cell to do an out of tank electric like the old A body cars and such have to do. Also anyone who is looking to converting their ride to fuel injection wants this tank and hanger as its much easier than buying a proper baffled tank and modifying an existing hanger from a mechanical pump car.

ok i understand now, this would save me from using an aftermarket pump of some kind. Is this assembley all one piece eith the the sending unit?

I covered everything in the trunk with carpet now!! I think I'm just going to make a cover for the spare tire well with 1/4" plywood or something and cover it. It turned out very nice 8)

Not bad! Where did you get the carpet from? I am going to do the same thing in my car and don't know where to get decent carpet for it. I was thinking of cheaping out and buying a roll or three from Wal Mart, and making my close out panels (for the ends by the quarters) out of some 1/4 in birch plywood. My only concern is how to solidly attach it as the trunk will be hosting a pair of subs up on the "shelf" part of the floor above the axle. I am trying to avoid rattles in the car at all cost.

You may also be interested to know that GM did 2 or 3 treatments to the spare tire area. One is a piece of wood covered in carpet that sits at an angle over the tire and hides that part of the trunk. The other is a tire cover and a cardboard piece that covers the part of the well that the wheel is not in, and is held in place by the spare tire tie down bolt. GM also did the trunk either in solid black or in gray "salt and pepper" carpeting (my term, not theirs). Also, some models had the rear deck speakers enclosed in small enclosures (I remember seeing them in a GP), and some did not.
