Thanks for the pics and info . I have had a lot of people that have been around the g bodys cars way longer than i , and everyone says they have never seen a factory 4 speed . Kinda made me curious if i could run down any info on landua . I had a 77 RS nova factory 3 speed on the floor also bench seat , the shifter in it had a spring retention clip , you could twist the flathead srewdriver slightly and pull up and the stick could be removed also had a factory tee handle , not as large as a hurst just enough for a finger on each side it was made of black plastic , but kinda had a rubber feel to itPics of a factory ITM and a factory 79 Pontiac A body Hurst View attachment 99102
The stick on the stock G body shifters (both ITM and Hurst) was attached the same way. The rubber mounting was to stop the shifter buzz that occurred when the stick was bolted solid to the mechanism as well as where the linkage rods attached to the arms at the bottom. I also think the thick rubber boot used was to also dampen it some more. Stock G bodies are VERY smooth quiet cars. Thanks for the pics and info .
