5.3 turbo in a 86' GP

Starting my first build thread, got a 86 Grand Prix that had a 383 stroker, but decided to go FI instead. So I bought a 5.3 out of a 02 Tahoe, took the heads to be reconditioned with ls6 springs. couple of pics:










I'm aiming for 550 hp ON A BUDGET! With the ls6 cam and a proper tune it should be possible. Hopefully by starting this build thread it will keep me motivated to get this thing together soon.

It's been a LONG while since i posted anything on here but, life kinda gets in the way ya know....
Progress is SLOW! I got the engine together but still have to work on the flexplate so it will bolt up to the th350.Then I can install it. Once that happens, then its on to wiring. Just picked this up.

I also had a bung welded for the oil return off of the turbo.

And Welded V-flanges on to the truck headers.

It's gonna be a nice setup! I would be suprised if you make 550hp though........more like 600+hp. Check out "denmah" on turboforums or youtube for his videos, he put a 4.8 LS with a GT45 69mm chinese turbo in a fairmont and ran low 10s, high 9s IIRC.
