Like the title says. Also What would be my options with this rear. Not looking to put a whole lot of power behind it. I already have a buillt 67 abody 10 bolt to handle some decent power. Are these kinda rare as this would be the first one Ive found that wasnt under an el camino. I guessing I could put better gears from another vehicle seeing as how im pretty sure its probable a 2.73 or maybe a 3.07

the 7.5 came in every g-body except for the grand national and some 442's..they are a very common rear. The 8.5 from a grand national is what everyone wants/looks for.
As for is it worth it? Is it completly stock or does it have upgraded axles or a a posi or an after market diff cover that braces the main caps.?

What I meant to say was that ive only found 7.5 posi rears on el caminos. Maybe its just my bad luck to never run across a posi under any other, ordinary run of the mill gbodies. And yea, its all stock under a plane jane cutlass.

my 79 cutlass salon 442 has a posi, but it has 2.29 gears. I plan on buying 3.73's that fit a 2 series carrier to upgrade my rear end

I think its worth looking under g body station wagons at the junkyard because (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) most came with Posi but highway gears. El caminos, cutlasses, monte carlo's and grand prix' all came with 7.5" and optional posi.

Maybe some did, but my wagon did not have a posi...mine came with Bonneville salt flat top speed run..... 2.14's
