7.5 rear in 85 GP problems

The Moser axles from summit will fit....the axle length is 28.5 for a G body

7.5 troubles and answers

OK-

7.5 (size of the ring gear diameter) 10 bolts up to 1988 were all 26 spline axles
The GN and 442 optioned rears were a 8.5 ring gear larger rear (same as a 1/2 ton truck) and used the 28 spline axle shafts

The Stock GN ANd 442 rear axle shafts CAN be used into the 7.5 rears BUT the c-clip button will be different and will require you make a special c-clip to retain the axles.

Moser and probably other aftermarket axle companies (strange superior etc make a conversion 28 spline axle with the correct button end to hold the 7.5 c-clip in correctly with NO MODS.

So YES any 28 spline 1990 and NEWR 7.5 / 7.6 camaro s-10 astro van or even full size with 7.5 / 7.6 rear will fit into your g-Body 7.5 rear housing.

ALL 1975-2003 10 bolt 7.5 or 7.6 or 7 5/8 gears are totally interchangeable from housing to housing...EXCEPT monza or Vega 10 bolt 7.5 (they are different)

I can get you deals on the Moser axles as we are dealer for them. NOT a ton off but some is better than NONE. lol. 🙂

I bought the same ones from summit but directly from moser. I talked to one guy for a bit and explaned what I need and they ended up being the same ones as the summit ones : Part # A102810 for anyone else wanting to do the same thing. I was gonna buy used but in the end, I decided to just buy new because I got such a good good deal on the 3.73's and the posi.
