The 2.56 first wouldn't be my first choice but it should be the strongest of the Saginaws and the stroker should have plenty of grunt for 1st gear take off. What's your rear end ratio?

They are not as bad as people say, but as TURNA said don't go ripping on slicks & drag radials. Local dirt track guys been sucking them up for the past few years (& jacking up their value) for their cars. The worst I did was kill bearings due to an oil leak. Some did post the other day a list on ratio to input shaft ring count.I've read some bad stuff about Saginaw 4 speed.
Is going behind a 383 stroker but I'm not building a drag car. Do you guys think that's too much of a torquey motor for the sag?
