No i dont have the tools but i have friends that can weld and own the right tools only thing i dont have access to is a way to lift the body from the frame its only on the drivers side though the passenger side is fine finding a good shape frame is going to be difficult here unless i can use a mid to late 80s frame illinois isnt kind on cars its all the salt they put on the roads i was really hoping i could just fix it using a good section or making my own i mean its worse than i remembered when i stored it but ive seen worse

All you need is 2 floor jacks a bottle jack and some wood to get the chassis off and out

The rails are still reproduced. I've seen them on here recently. Just be prepared for body bolts to break off, to find rotten body mounts and rust in the inner structure of the body. I promise you can't see all of the rust with the car put together. I hope you save it. I hate to see them crushed. There are fewer of them every day. Just be prepared for what you are getting into. It will be costly and labor intensive. lilbowtie has a very clean V-6 Monte that he would sell for around $3k. All it needs is a V8 swap and to be driven. He's in Metro Detroit. You could drive the car home.

Id probably rather park this one and work on it its my first car and always hear people saying they wish they never got rid of their first car i was one of the few that just stored mine instead of selling it and if all else fails ill find something else to do with it

So ive been thinking about the advice i was given about this and im going to pull the body off the frame. Ive seen frames online for $600 if the body is in too bad of shape when i pull it im thinking about ditching the frame replacement idea and just building a roll cage on a new frame or if the once i have is salvageable and ditch the daily driver idea and go with a full fledged drag car. I honestly cant see myself parting with it and at least it would be parts of what it once was and its not getting crushed or parted out

I've changed several frames it's really not that bad just don't get discerage and stay organized. Think things threw and remember safety if you can use someone's post lift it's a hole lot easier. However I was thinking ...tub it! Buy a prefabricated kit cut off the rear rails and the inner wheelhouses witch are probably rotted we're they meet the floor anyways and put in tubs a 9" and that's a bad **** I'm just saying

Got a link to any good kits? Also if i tubbed it i would need to remove the gas tank also if i went that route i doubt daily driver would be an option so i was thinking if o did the 9 inch fuel cell and all that i was thinking going the extra mile and supercharging my 383 if i did all that i think id be less mindful on cutting the hood i was thinking pro charger but those are quite a bit more pricey than the other supercharger options not to mention the cam and carb replacement id need to do...

I know people that run tubed cars on the street and you can leave a stock tank in it or get one that's sumped. I always say even at work cutting on brand new cars it's only metal! Now my brother gets upset when I use that statement around his cars but if it's not a concors restoration like his cars. Cut it and build it make it yours!

Its easy to make your own C channels to tub your car, its just 2x3 tubing. You can even use your upper link arms an mounts. Of course you'll have to move bottom arms, shocks and springs.
