I always wanted to do one of those & put an 89 to 91 GMC Suburban/Jimmy or Dually front clip with billet grill & no emblem, I had a 79 BIG10 Shortbed factory 454,had pw, pl ,tilt, working A/C, 90 suburban buckets & console White with Tan interior, all aftermarket suspension, actually put a rear sway bar on it also & 1980 square headlight setup. I will try & dig some pics of it out & try & post
Good luck with it

I've got the rear sway bar on this but i've actually thought of taking it off. I'm afraid that it will stiffen the rear up too much and make it too tail-happy. Any insight on how it affected your ride?

kind of hard to tell cause of the mess, but the front 1/3 of the frame is painted.

Gonna try to get the rest of the front suspension together tomorrow.

got this for free:

its a muncie m20 from 1969, albeit in pieces. I know a guy around the corner that rebuilds them, so i'll be going on monday to see what the damage will be. even if i need to drop a few hundred on it its still cheaper than buying one!

I don't have this truck but on my caddy which I've driven w/ and w/o the sway bar my observations were that in summer driving the sway bar is a massive improvement in handling but in winter its an entirely different story and it's easy to get locked into a sort of 'power slide' if you hit black ice. You seem to know what you're doing I doubt you were planning to drive the truck much on ice but yea I would wait & put it on in spring. On even 1-2'' snow things can get kind of wierd if you make an error like trying to answer the phone or holding a drink w 1 hand or something like that the sway bar makes it really unforgiving it easy to spin out b/c stiff

I guess the best way to tell is to just try it both ways... the sway bar is already on there so if it handles like crap i can always take it off i guess.
