yes, the 7.5 is a smaller rear end....see if he want to sell his diver shaft but you'll have to find out what transmission he's running to make sure the length of the drive shaft is right for your car

good info!

alright well i had stock a 200r4 bolted to the stock buick 3.8 when i got the car and when i went to the 350 i went to a th400. so had to get a dif yoke on the drive shaft and the yoke its self can slide into the trans about 2-2 1/2'' into the trans yet. if it will slide in to the trans enf to where it will bolt to the rear end and still have a little room to slide in and out to the trans will that work?

you can wait till you see if the drive shaft will be the right length, it only takes a day for a shop to cut it an balance the drive shaft

LSCustoms...I have known one guy who went out to buy an 8.5 and got home with a 7.5 and I've heard of others online who have ended up with a 7.5

make sure the axles seals are not leaking, check the pinion seal, take the cover off to make sure there is no surprises, clean it out real good and fill it with, my preference is synthetic, with the delco additive for the posi..when you put the gasket on glue it with gasket maker onto the cover and put a little grease in the other side of the gasket. That way if you ever have to remove the cover the gasket will stick to the cover and be reusable.
