8.5 rear out of an S10

some chevy's have 5x4.75 and some have 5x4.5. we had that problem on an s-10 at the shop. corvette uses a 5x120mm which is compatible with the 4.75 but it is slightly different.
 
rear discs are nice, takes 10min a side for me to change pads on the rear
 
The Ranger, Aerostar or a Bronco II all are a 7.5 the ranger with the v6 later on was a 8.8 but its a rare thing.The explorer had a 8.8 the trucks and 84 and newer fox body are 8.8 also.And the 7.5 is the weakest axle ford has ever made.

agreed... they only used them for low hp engines... they didnt cost that much to build and they dont eat much power...
 
im still new to the rear end concept. but i have been trying to come up with some unique ideas of my own and stumbled upon this just this morning. and i was actually pondering whether or not it would work. apparently it will. im not sure what its worth ($$$). but i figured someone might be interested.
