Jim,
I wish I had half of your patients and all of your fabrication talent! I have all these ideas in my head but know the best I can do is sh*t hammer some of them together. You on the other hand, see it, think about it and do it. Bravo!
The wagon you're building is like a flash forward of something GM would have built had the rear wheel mid sized platform stayed around. In todays world, GM would consider equipping a wagon with a turbocharged V6 in a heartbeat. Building an IROC wagon, probably not so much. Best I can hope to do is make it look like GM built it, kinda like the experimental Trans AM wagon I have photos of.
Keep it up man, don't mind telling you I steal ideas shamelessly. Got any recent photos of the car?

Jim,
I once thought of going with the El Camino SS/ Choo-choo front clip, but they just don't look right on a wagon. It looks out of proportion. They do look good on an El Camino, however.
I like a lot of the subtle refinements that you've been adding to the car.
Jim,
I think color can make or break a particular look. I have seen a nicely done Malibu wagon with the Choo-choo nose, and it looked rather nice. It was a two tone black and...gunmetal grey, if I'm not mistaken. ..and on the other hand, I saw another wagon with the nose and was painted a shade of metallic red, and it just didn't look right. I think with that look, you need an aggressive wheel and tire combo.
I know what you mean about the '73-'77 Chevelles. I was never real crazy about that body style, but the Laguna nose really enhances it.
Your brother's car was a Malibu coupe? It sounded nice.
