BUILD THREAD 81 Buick/Olds Turbo Wagon 02/15/2024 More Parts!

I managed to get some more work done. Got the ds fender body work done and in epoxy, hung it on the car. Put the good back on, and I am almost done the header panel. Skimmed some filer on the tailgate in between all this.

I starting modifying the aluminum bumper mounts for the front. I have it all together for final fitment modifications. Between now nd Sunday I should have the front end all bodywork and in epoxy, so I can start the rear bumper.

No real pictures, just a few of the bumper mounts getting lengthened.

Glad to see things moving right along, Jim.
I like the aluminum bumper mounts..they're cleaner looking, and not bulky like the original absorbers.

Got header panel in epoxy primer. Now to block it out a few times to make sure I got all the nicks and what not.

I also finished up both aluminum bumper mounts. My aluminum RIG welding is a bit rusty, but they look ok.

I'll be doing the metal to metal filler work on the Front bumper over the next 3 days.

More to come.

Looking great Jim!
You're a couple steps ahead of me and working on all the same components I'll be tackling soon.
🙂
I'll be following along your progress closely!
Btw, if that's your rusty TiG welding, you can come weld up some stuff for me anytime. Looks great sir!

Donovan, you are too kind, thank you sir!

Between halfrod, you and Blake, you guys are helping me press on.

I sat the header panel on it for sh*ts and giggles.

I blasted the backside of the Front bumper and played the black epoxy primer on the backside. I have to hit the paint shop tomorrow to buy some metal-to-metal to do the outside up.

I do feel like a slacker sometimes, haha. I got most of the work done on the Front bumper. A coat or two of slicksand, and it is ready for paint. I have the holes cut for the flush mount LED maker/turn lights.

These pics are right after the coat of epoxy. It was going to rain so I had to get it covered. I need a bit of metal glaze around the vent holes. It still needs blocking, but the metal work is done.

I am almost done the tailgate also.

Looks great Jim.
I figured you were busy at it. I haven't seen you on the site for a few days.

The bumper really turned out nicely!
Keep it up, I'm starting to pull ahead of you! lol

I noticed you filled your header emblem...
Was the emblem you pulled off in decent shape?

Thanks Blake! You are ahead of me. I have the tailgate to finish bodywork on, and the rear bumper to tuck and narrow. Yours will be in paint a few weeks before mine I am sure.

The emblems we all garbage, I though of you when I yanked them, but they weren't in good shape at all. broken clear plastic, all the chrome flaked off, etc.
