Firebird. 85-92 I think. Usually under $75 or so. You have to build some spacers but its way cheeper than a real HO spoiler.

Looks good!

Ran to my favorite old car salvage yard today. Picked up a aluminum core support out of a 79 GP, and a widow washer tank and vacuume switch for some carb turbo projects. GP had a aluminum front bumper too. Just wondering, do all 78-80 GP's have steel inner fenders. Thought it was kinda wierd, this car did and never really noticed that before. There was a 76 GP with a full set of 15X7 pontiac ralleys, are those rare or anything? Guess Ive never seen a full set of 15's before.

I wandered over to the back corner too, they have a bunch of Gremlin X's, and 20+ Fox mustangs, and a bunch of 55-57 chevs too. They seem to have everything!

Was driving today about a mile from my house just getting over a bridge and I hear BOOM and feel my front end drop down. Slide to the side of the road, get out, and discover my front lower ball joint broke. Didnt hit a big bump or anything, just a bridge to road seam at around 40. Get towed home, and go drive to the parts store to pick up the new ball joint. Jeep has a dead battery. Take battery out of the Olds, put it by the jeep and tried to jump it. Couldnt get the current to flow. Put the Olds battery in, go to NAPA. $12 one or $37 one. $12 seems way cheep, so I go for the $37 one. $100 later I have my olds sitting on the road infront of my house on blocks, and a ball joint in a box.

Stupid part is, I just got the front end aligned this spring, and before that I looked over the front end and everything looked good, and nothing was wore out. I wouldn't be suprised at all if the ball joints stud snapped or something.

Well, no sheetmetal got bent, the inner fender is intact, so thats good.

be safe, go get yourself a set of jackstands

Ive got a set of homemade screwjacks that are way more stable than jackstands, its just I dropped it off at the closest place I could to work on it and thats the only thing I had, didnt want to have the guy wait for me to drive the few miles to grab them. Before I do any work on it Ill get something better put under there though.

Looks like another winter project besides painting it and a new cam will be replacing ball joints and new bushings too probably.

Well I did get around to fixing the ball joint ended up trying to pound it out, then just decided to put it in a hydraulic press to pop the bottom end of the ball joint out. Ended up blowing the bottom out, so a torch and grinder was used. Finally got it out and put back together. Must have been a freek break because the drivers side is as tight as can be, and thats how I remembered the passenger side being. Ended up breaking out the top like a normal failure would be on a 250K mile car, but on a 107K car.

Few months ago I bought a cheep Jeep to act as a winter beater. Been fixing that pig up. $500 for the car and $300 for parts so overall im happy.

Next week the car is going off the road for winter projects. I'm taking the front clip off. Going to paint the front a but, clean up my wiring mess, get a new radiator as mine leaks, put in my aluminum core support, straighten out my front bumper or put on my other aluminum one I have, put in a new cam, put on the new fender, and maybe repaint the car in April or so. Im ambitous! Besides paint, theres really nothing from making the car where I want it. Interior is great, suspension is great minus springs witch could be replaced, bottom end on the motor is strong. The only other thing would be a 3.42 rear, 200R4, and more boost if I want. Or just put in my 455.
