81 Malibu project restarting

I test fit a pair of the rally’s to verify they didn’t rub. They didn’t so I got the other pair primed. I’m going to try and get them sprayed this weekend and order tires. Then I think I’ll try and do the steering box and front sway bar, since the rear needs a little more work than I anticipated. It sucks because I really wanted to get the sagging drivers side rear straightened out.

I got the time sprayed yesterday and I ordered tires. Hopefully I’ll be able to mount them Saturday.

I took the car to the shop today and mounted the tires. I also installed the front and rear sway bars and lower front chassis braces from the H/O parts car. It drove home like a different car.
Next I need to change the body mounts and get new rear tires. I want to see how it sits before I make new spring perches for the rear. Right now I think it’s going to be a little lower than I want it.

I ordered new rear tires. I should have them to install by this weekend. It’ll be nice to actually be able to take the car out on the highway.
I picked up a Monte SS wheel and just got my horn parts so I can install it.
Right now I’m trying to convince my wife that Yukon won’t look bad parked in the driveway for a few days. A friend of a friend cracked the frame on it and I want the engine. It’s a 97 with a vortec 350. Much better than the 305 I have. Truck doesn’t look to bad topside but man is the frame rotten.

The Tahoe drivetrain is a good choice. 96-99 jumped from 205 hp in 95 to 260 hp. Make it breath good both in and out and it will run real good.

My wife told me I don’t need the engine. We’ve known each other for 20 years, not sure what she’s thinking. There’s no way I’m going to let this slip through my fingers.

I managed to install my wheel today and my tires came, so I’ll mount them Saturday.

I've always been told its better to ask for forgiveness, probably also why I can't find anyone dumb enough to stay with me. HAahahah

If your getting the Tahoe cheap , it would be stupid to pass on. More power and efficiency than the older Olds 350.

When I parted out the H/O my wife was against it until I sold the engine and other parts. Then she had her hand out.
