It's free advice. It's your job to figure out if I'm full of crap or not and if that GM cable is actually what you need. According to the parts book, it fits MV9 TH200C transmissions with D55 console. The original number may have been 22500578, but the supersession book shows that 22500579 cable replaced it. It appears your adjustment nut on your trans selector lever is all the way forward but appeared to be mounted almost all the way back with your old cable. If they were exactly the same, then you probably shouldn't have had to move that adjustment very much if at all. Something's up with that cable if your old one was the factory style. So I would try to adjust it first before buying parts, but if you do find the cable is wrong, I'd go get that 579 cable if I were you.

Yeah I’m just going to order it just to have if i can’t get the gbody one to work, the quality of the gbody cable just isn’t that great as far as where the clips go imo. Also on the cable end that mounts on the shifter I had to drill the hole a little bigger it wouldn’t slide over so I could put the pin that holds it on the shaft back on.

Oh, and make sure when you get to it, ensure the grounding straps are all in place and good to go. Because what happens sometimes is the cable becomes a grounding source too, and if it's the only one, I've heard stories of the cables freezing up and snapping. I have never experienced that and not sure if it's wives tales or not, but it's always good just to make sure...

Will do i appreciate the tip, I’m hoping once I get my factory service manuals here I can just go through all the grounds verify everything is correct, verify all the vacuum hoses just a bunch of miscellaneous stuff while I have the engine out waiting on the original to get done from the machine shop and just ensure everything is how it needs to be. I plan on doing quite a bit of cruise ins with the car and just enjoying it, I decided to just keep the engine pretty much stock just want a good cruiser don’t need a high hp car. I can build one if I want one but this car is just to unique and I don’t want to do hardly any changes to it because of what it is I want people to see the car and enjoy it for what it is

I got to looking at the original cable and the gbodyparts one more closely I just looked at the length and while that is correct where the clip goes on the trans bracket is not the original one is a little bit longer there so hopefully this genuine gm cable will be the fix thank you for getting that link to me 69hurstolds

The second picture is where the original broke, the other picture is the original and aftermarket side by side where they mount on the trans side

I’ve bought from them before but it has been several years back when I had my GN but I mainly bought from Kirban and a couple other vendors also. But yeah the cable after really looking at it side by side even though it looked correct at first is definitely not correct

I’ve never had any issues with kirban. I have heard of problems with gbody but haven’t had any issues with a part until this shifter cable.
