82 Monte Build Thread - Project Finished!

went to a place near me called nos reproductions and ordered a new dark navy blue carpet and while i was there i thought id look into some front seat covers for my buckets. my seats have the molded in head rests and a hard cover for the back. acording to them the seats must be from a 78 to 81 monte but they didnt think the patern was the same. now this makes me wonder if they are from a cutlass or other gbody. the rear seat matches the front. if anyone could tell me what year my seats are from that would be great so i could order some new covers. hears a pic of one of the seats.

i also am looking for a set of hard backs for the seats

Those seats are from an older MC. The seats you need have the seperate head rest like axisg have.

those look like 86 cutlass buckets with a 6 cyl. I had the exact same ones as showtime in my 86 cutlass

the buckets in a 6 cylinder car will not have the chrome on them.

so they must be from a 78 to 81 monte is what your saying? i know they should be like the ones axisg has but i really dont want to get another set of seats if i dont have to. the cutlass seats dont seem to have the same pattern as what i have.

The pattern in your seats appears to be the same pattern as the tan 81 Malibu bucket seats I have in storage out of town.

ya im thinking they must be out of a monte or malibu. there should be seat covers for them. im wondering if these are the right ones but unfortunatly theres no pics

Not sure about that...I've got a pic of an 80 Malibu I had I can post it had buckets, but I've got to run out for a bit. I think the pattern is different than what you've got.

i might end up having to order the hole set with the rear seat then at least it will match the rear and i wont have to worry about the pattern not being exact.

Here's a pic of the buckets in the 80 Malibu that I parted out a few years ago. You can see that the seats have a different pattern and has the seams that cross the seat cushion and back rest. I personally don't really care for the seams myself, I perfer the cleaner look of the newer seats.

Here's a pic of Turna's buckets in his 80......different material again but has the seams. Looks alot better than the worn ones I had.LOL
