went back to that wrecking yard today that was stuffed full of g-bodys and scored a set of aluminum monte ss rims off an 87 monte ss for $30 each. also picked up a washer fluid canister. checked again for some hard backs for the seat but no luck 🙁
82 Monte Build Thread - Project Finished!

The time frame we talked about I'm sure I can come up with some seat backs for ya. The more I'm thinking now the more I remember there might be a Cutlass in one of the wreckers here with buckets in it. Just let me know if you do find some in the next little while though. We got almost 2" of rain here last night and that will make the wreckers mud holes, but I can check it out when it dries up. I still can't find the owner of the camino I mentioned.

well i havent been on here for a while because i have been so busy with college but i thought id give an update on the montes status. we finally started on the body getting it ready for paint on the weeked and it should be in primer by the end of the week. i havent determined the exact dark blue color yet. i found set of stock rear coil spings for the car to replace the springs that are in it now which im thinking are out of a wagon. also i have sent my original seat covers to pui for them to copy the pattern to make new ones. hopefully will be posting some pics soon.

Finally got monte in primer this week. primed it with glasurit high build and we are now sanding it out. the colour i picked for the car is GM midnight blue metallic. hopefully will have it painted by next week.

is it midnight blue metallic or NBM like what was on camaro's? If it's the midnight I think that is like my dad's last truck and that should look great! can't wait to see the progresss some more!

the colour is midnight blue metallic. i found it in a 2009 rm paints colour book under 2009 GM colours so its likley the same as your dads truck. it seems to sparkle really nice in the sunlight and almost seems black at night.
