Been debating adding the vinyl woodgrain trim around the car once it's painted. Should I do it?

Well, I finally got the car home today!
I called AAA after work to have them tow it, and the driver showed up in like 20 minutes. He said he had to make a quick local run before he loaded up my car, and since I had my other wagon to drive, I just headed home to anticipate his arrival. Well, I get home, and a short while later he calls me, saying that he had loaded up the car, and then blew a hydraulic hose on his flat bed, so the car was stuck on the truck. Well, luckily he was able to get it fixed quick, and by the time I got back from putting the Caprice back in the storage container, the car was waiting for me at home!

I took a few pictures, but the lighting was kinda shitty as the sun was starting to go down, so I'll try and take some better ones tomorrow.

Here's some pics anyways... I'll get some better ones when it's daylight and I wash the grime off of it.

Looks bad *ss, I love the wheel/tire combo and the rear offset. Are you still looking for headlight bezels?

If I could pick one word to describe your driveway, it would be: wagon- fest!!!

Awesome job, looks great so far. It's waitin' for some green paint now 8)

It is a wagon fest! The only way it'd be any better is if I brought my Malibu back home too... Then it'd look like the Oregon Trail there'd be so many wagons!

Thanks for the complements! I'm kinda bummed that the front tires rub, since the stance looks awesome the way it sits. Hopefully once I swap in my V8 springs that I have, it will pick the front up enough to keep it from rubbing. Unfortunately, that means no driving it until then, so I better get my *ss in gear! That'll be the perfect time to go through the brakes as well. I just have to remember to snag the spring compressor from work.
Too bad I have all kinds of activities/friends in town for a good friends wedding this weekend, so I won't get a chance to touch the car until Sunday, and if all goes according to plan, I'll be way too hung over...

I am if you know of some really nice ones. The ones on the car are good driver quality, but there are some small cracks in the plating and the amber corner lens is faded. If you have some, shoot me a PM. I also wouldn't mind finding a nicer grille as well...

I have a pair of NOS bezels. 8) PM sent.

Wagons are like mullets: All business up front with a party in the back! 😀

I have a suggestion for you to think about: Why not lack out the minor trim and body color metal around the side windows? I would leave the drip rail and bottom of the window trim chrome, but have it framing a blacked out window section for a more cohesive look. I did this on my old AMC and it came out pretty good.

Well, the beltline trim along the bottoms of the windows will be removed when the car is painted. I plan on leaving all the rest of the window trim on, as well as switching the shitty moulded vinyl 1/4 window trim to the earlier aluminum pieces.

I thought about blacking out the window frames, but decided against it. I like it on certain cars (my Buick has it, as a matter of fact), but with this one I'd like to keep it all body color.

On a side note, I finally gave the car a good cleaning today. Now the door jambs show the original color, instead of dirt and spider webs.

Hey, do you still need a brown dash for the wagon? I have one here and want $100 + shipping for it.
