'83 Cutlass Cruiser Build Thread

Been debating adding the vinyl woodgrain trim around the car once it's painted. Should I do it?

2" drop, right on the button... It's perfect!
I agree. The wheel/tire combo puts the sidewall and tread edge in just the right location for the ride height. Blake, you nailed it!

What a difference a day makes...
It poured all morning. I wore pants and a sweatshirt, and when I left the house it was 63*...
Then the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day.

And a pic of the wagon with Jacob's 2+2

blake, I think that wagon is now 1 step away from perfection: get some a/c in it! the stance is perfect.

hope all is well on the no-smoking front, as a 1 1/2 to 2 pack a day guy for the better part of 20+ years, I know how hard it is to walk away from them. my tipping point was when my dad passed away from cancer (non-hodgkins) in dec of '09 (never smoked his entire life), mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in feb '10 (never smoked), and my wife woke me up at 2 am 2 weeks after mom's diagnosis, with what we thought was a heart attack (wasn't but both our families had history of heart disease, including her mom having one at the same age). I have high respect for anyone being able to quit, especially cold turkey. I went the way of chantix, and I haven't had a cigarette since march of 2010, and don't miss them one bit. hope you're able to make it, you'll wonder why you waited so long!

Thanks guys!
10 days without a cigarette!
I know long-term will be tough, but so far it has been a lot easier than I thought it was going to be...

Keep it up Blake, one day at a time. Like I mentioned I'm a year in a d some days suck and I want one, but most of the time I just redirect my thought process and it helps.

Now that the wagon is back together time to resurrect the 442! 🙂

Things were pretty wild on snelling Saturday night, saw some dude in a 05 GTO doing about a 300ft burnout infront of HarMar.

I saw you driving around a bit on Sunday, I was around for an hour or so.

I made one pass up and down Snelling before heading home Saturday nite...
I really wanted to stick around, but I was too wiped out and the sandman was calling my name.

The wagon successfully negotiated the beat up city streets with ease, no bottoming out or hideous rubbing... Just a touch at full-lock...
As awful as Friday was, that kind of extreme heat is rare, and not enough to make me put a/c in the car... Easier to just drive the Roadbarge lol

Now I can finally get the front-end aligned, and the rear tires need to be replaced... that's my goal before the end of the cruising season.
This winter I will pull the rear axle out of the car and throw in my gears and carrier along with some fresh bushings and a coat of paint...

When I put it back together in 2016 and the height was wrong, I was so pissed that it really took the wind out of my sails...
After a successful weekend last week, I was absolutely thrilled with the suspension finally being sorted!
We got lucky with a stretch of perfect weather all week so I drove the car all week (except friday) and then took it out for a nice cruise yesterday.
Needs an alignment before I start nit-picking anything else, but I'm pleased as punch!
Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and couldn't help but snap a quick pic under the lites
Over two weeks without a smoke!
