'83 Cutlass Cruiser Build Thread

Been debating adding the vinyl woodgrain trim around the car once it's painted. Should I do it?

Not much to report other than I'm a lazy bum...
I did discover that I didn't quite trim the rear wheel wells as much as I thought...
Too much axle flex backing out of my chiropractor's steep driveway and the tire snagged the molding a bit. Smushed it back with a big dolly.
The weather this second half of summer has been absolutely gorgeous so I've been cruising as much as I can.
Tomorrow marks 7 weeks without a cigarette. Easy-peasy.

Awesome Blake!!!! Not awesome on the moulding, but almost 2 months without a cig is a feat!!!! It's always tough, I'm like 14 or 15 months now and I have my days!!!! Keep cruising that beautiful wagon man, hopefully the Cutlass will join the ranks soon of G's back on the road!

Hey Blake,
Glad to hear that you're still on the tobacco-free program. Good for you bro. Keep up the good work. It's good to hear that you've been driving the wagon and making up for lost time.

While I am essentially done with the car, I still look for NOS parts...
An NOS lift-glass hinge for an air-deflector car came with a tidy little bonus of TWO NOS screw covers!
12 weeks without a cigarette.

Followed up our beautiful second half of summer with a beautiful fall...
Put over 300 miles on the car last weekend cruising and gave it a much needed bath.
Hoping to squeeze in a few more miles before they start throwing chemicals on the roads...
3 & 1/2 months without a cigarette.

The car looks great. Blake. The color really grows on you. It turned out to be a nice combination with the wood grain. Lowering the front really made a difference.
Glad you're still on the smoke free campaign. Keep up the good work. Your lungs and body...and taste buds will thank you.👍

Done for the year.
Racked up almost 1600 miles. Not bad considering I never have anywhere to go lol
Took the car out on Halloween and topped it off with gas. Two days later they were throwing salt on the roads...
All that's left to do is throw on the covers and call up the insurance company to say they're parked.
I'll probably wait until early spring to yank the axle out...
I already have the gears and posi unit, but I'll start gathering up all the other bits that I'll need for the rebuild.

4 months without a cigarette... I don't feel any better, food doesn't taste any better, I hate everything and I'm tired all the time.
At least I won't have to go outside as much this winter...

Cars look good Blake. You're like me, soon as the salt is out, I park anything I care about. Glad to hear you're still off the chokes. It's a miserable process but long term you'll be glad you did it.
