Nothing a gasket or two won't fix....

Sorry to hear the bad news, but look at it this way, once you DO get round tuit on fixing it, you'll know exactly where you stand and what you're working with. Silver linings....silver linings...
a little RTV and some Marvel mystery oil, that engine will be fine

So finally got around to doing this:

So heres what we found. Three of the wrist pins were very sloppy and had alot of play. But whats concerning me more is the pistons. Any ides what caused this:

My dad thinks whoever had the car before didnt break it in and caused the damage. He thinks i should replace the pistons and connector rod bearings and hone the cylinders and put it back together
Hes like it will be fine. He’s also 71 and super old school.

Any ideas, suggestions, comments??

Whoever rebuilt it did some poor machining on the cylinders

Find an Olds 350, 76 or older preferred, it is a much better starting point. It looks like the piston to wall clearance was too tight.

Can all the auxilary stuff fit? Or i need an entire new engine, heads, intake, etc etc

Maybe the guy just put the wrong pistons in?
Im on a budget and this car will never race so im just curious. I was looking and cant seem to find an olds 350 that needs a rebuild.

You can use your heads and intake but I would add 1.87/1.56 valves on a 350. The 5A heads have small ports and valves. You will need the next oversize and the motor overbored. What size pistons are in it now?
