Those look great. Honestly i didnt really notice the small dents until after i primed them Now i have to fix them cuz you pointed it out. Lol.Looks good why not fix the dents while your at it.
I just did mine
Finally got it all back together. She started up and is idling great. Noise is still there I think it might be the flexplate. I was able to see the cam lobe through the lifter hole and it looked pretty good. Also the lifter showed no sign of damage. Lets hope thats it. If not this engine is done.
I also installed some cheapy gauges so i can see temp and oil pressure. Looks pretty good.
With the new thermostat temp now stays right at 180. Oil pressure was good as well

I agree with lilbowtie that you need to get that plastic oil line outta there. Even if it doesn't melt a hole in it somewhere, continuous flexing and subsequent cracking anywhere in that line is going to be very messy at the very least. Get the copper tubing. More peace of mind that way. IMO anyway.
Yeah ive read that. This was a cheap set just so i can see the pressure and temp while testing. I can swap that out once i get the engine squared away and running good
I knew a guy who got sprayed on the leg with hot oil from one of those plastic lines blowing, he has scars from the burns on his leg. Not to mention it ruined it his carpet.
