View attachment 44022 New core support came in. I hit it with a coat of por-15. Finished connecting the cage to the frame, cleaned it all up and coated it except where the floor pieces go in. I am going to start making some templates for those.
Everything looks like it's coming together nicely!
🙂
That's an interesting core support, I've never seen one like that before. Where's it from?

Thanks. Its an Iceman Racing rad support. Its chromoly and incredibly light. I am going to contact them about a lightweight crossmember and see if he can do one for a 4l80e. He is best know for the 12 bolt/8.8 swap UCAs.

New steering column and Grant steering wheel. Light as a feather. I will wait until I get the floor pieces in and the floor coated.
Also got the front springs in so I can start putting the front suspension together. Ordered stainless brake lines.

Still piecing the floor in where the cage was welded to the frame. Have to pick up some lugnuts for the rear so I can use my fender roller on the quarters. I'm on the fence about shaving the gutters above the windows too.
Contacted Circle D about a stall recomendation based on my specs. They are saying 4800-5000 stall. Things are going to get crazy. Race car with license plates.

Started rolling the lips on the quarters. It does a nice job on them but I didn't notice until it was too late that once you get so far that there is a clearance issue between the arm of the tool and one of the studs. Messed up the thread and had to cut the stud to get the lugnut and tool off. Notched the tool where it hit the stud. Already went on Summit and bought a new Strange 3" stud and got what is left of the old one out. Had them throw in a Proform main body for my 850 double pumper so I could get free shipping. That could be one of my winter projects rebuilding that when it starts getting cold out.

Ready for rebuild time. Ran out of argon today, so fortunately I am working night shift tomorrow and I can get my bottle filled before I go into work. Still have more of the floor to patch up.

Rebuilt my carb and added the new main body. Dropped some weight with that upgrade. Cleaning the parts was the worst part. Looking forward to sticking this on the 6.0 and getting it dialed in.

Iceman 4l80e crossmember came in. It weighs about 7 lbs. Nice quality piece. I also got the MSD 6LS box thanks to the holiday sales. Wish I had more funds available to take advantage of these sales. About half the items I have in my 11 page wish list on Summit Racing are on sale.

Thanks. I have so many boxes sitting around too, and it would take buying a few things first before I can really continue. I bought the stainless brake lines and got a new prop valve but I have to get a line lock. Need my engine back from the machine shop to install before I can do the front suspension. I need the weight up there. I can put the new column in once I finish welding the floor pieces in, and maybe start on the dash.
