Thanks. I have so many boxes sitting around too, and it would take buying a few things first before I can really continue. I bought the stainless brake lines and got a new prop valve but I have to get a line lock. Need my engine back from the machine shop to install before I can do the front suspension. I need the weight up there. I can put the new column in once I finish welding the floor pieces in, and maybe start on the dash.
Sounds like a good plan hell yeah! Hoping to get my engine to the shop before long and not get too far behind...with mine at paint n body i have a few months to prep the engine and interior too! Keep us all up to date!!!

Will do. It will prob be slow for a little bit. My uncle owns the machine shop, which is just a side job for him, and he said last night that he hasn't started on the motor yet. I told him no hurry. Also still trying to track down a 4L80e for a decent price so I can put it together. Don't want to break the bank on the initial purchase when I'm planning on rebuilding and putting the manual valve body in. Think I'm going to save paint for last.

Got all my floor pieces welded in around the cage. Por-15'd everything and hit my crossmember with a coat also. Sprayed another can of boom mat on the interior. Once the cage is topcoated and I'm done putting the boom mat in, I can stick my new column and dash in. The stainless brake lines are also next on the agenda since my Moroso line lock came in this week.

Installed an aluminum prop valve for disc/disc setup today and got the long line that runs down the framerail put in after pulling all the old brake lines out. Going to install the line lock solenoid under the master cylinder on the firewall. Looking forward to getting the rest of the lines hooked up tomorrow.

I know that it's a done deal, but why did you choose togo with manual brakes? Is your cam that big that it won't make any vac at idle?

My cam is probably going to be borderline on size. I've heard once your in the 230's about brakes getting sketchy and I am 242 exhaust. I wanted to address it now while I have the dash out. Its not like I will be autocrossing it anyway, haha, I am going to run skinnies in the front and I have a spool out back.

Makes sense for a drag race application.I don't think your cam is too large for vacuum brakes though. Spool and vacuum brakes I wouldn't think are synonomous.

I am just talking from a standpoint that I'm not going to be ripping around corners with a spool is all. The guy I bought the brake kit from said I would get lock up. There is a different pivot point for manual brakes than power. Its not like just having no vacuum. Ferrari F40's and Mclaren F1's didn't have power assist brakes either. Also, the cam might not be too big now, but the next time the motor comes out and I do the next round of upgrades, it definately will be too big.

Got the line lock solenoid mounted to the firewall and connected up all the lines. In the spring I will get the rear brake kit and the front calipers to finish up the brakes. Also top coated the cage last night. I need a couple more cans of that boom mat stuff to spray on the inside, then in goes the new column and the dash can start being put together.
