I'm with you, my 70S is still in pieces and my 88 Cutlass had the alternator die with a warranty replacement, get this, a month a way! It must be coming from Mexico! They are trying to find another one at extra cost for me, nice. Plus the front tire has a slow leak, at least I have time to get it fixed. I see the fairly new Dynomax muffler on my Dakota is breaking at the outlet, sounds pretty mean actually. God bless our old junk.
Yup, I got turned on to this process a few years back. Now I keep a 5 gallon pail ( soon to be 50 gal drum ) at the ready for refinishing stuff !On to some suspension. I'm really, really impressed with electrolysis for rust removal. Washing soda is an excellent degreaser. My parts come out of the bath squeeky clean, all I do is hit them with the pressure washer before sand blasting.
Standard greasy and rusty suspension components. Nothing we haven't all seen before.
Arm on the right after 24 hours in the electrolysis tank.
I might take you up on that L67ss, thank you. What state would you be shipping from? I need to figure out how I'm going to get mine out still.
I ended up buying a GM Torsen unit and a set of 28 spline axles. Thanks again, L67ss.

my Torsen comes with a set of 3.42's, so the same thing i was going to install. Hopefully they are in good shape, as the ones I already have are for a 2 series carrier and won't work. We'll see when it shows up next week.
