Hey everyone, today is my first day on the site. Really excited to be apart of it finally. Ive been planning on signing up just never had the time. I have a 86 monte non ss. I plan on making it a street/strip car. But my main objective is to have a mean track car. I have a 7.5 10 bolt with richmond 3:73s and a auburn posi very weak i know haha. I have a th350 a guy sold me out of a 91 s10 that ran 9s on spray. The convertor is 3200-3400 stall. The motor is a mild sbc 355. Edelbrock performer heads with very thin .015" headgaskets, scorpion 1.6 rollers, airgap intake, solid lifters and solid comp cam. 2000-6400 rpm 236 242 duration and .050". I did the compression calculator, should be about 10.5 to 1. Any ideas for suspention?

Check out the different options Spohn offers thats where the entire front and rear suspension for my 442 came from. Great pieces on the fit and finish.

Heres a pic of my rear suspension with Spohn upper and lower control arms, and sway bar with my 8.5 rear.

Wow, thats rly clean. I would defenetly go that route if i had a 8.5. Im still running 7.5. I want a good suspention that will allow me to hook up on or off the track. I would love to find an 8.5. Ill nvr rly make the power where ill need a 9" but its always nice to have more then what u need.

Thanks, and you can run pieces like this. The 8.5 inch and 7.5 inch rear ends use the same control arms, sway bars, springs, shocks, etc. only difference is drive shaft length.

Let me ask you this. I know you can build a 7.5 to a 7 5/8" which is just a f body carrier then you run the 28 spline axles for a grandnational. So can you build a 7.5 to a 8.5? In otherwords can you put a grandnational carrier with the 8.5" Ring gear in a 7.5 housing?

Highly highly doubt that, if it were possible everyone with a 7.5 rear would do that. The center sections of the two axles are very different. Don't listen to what everyone says, a 7.5 inch rear will take some abuse with the right mods. As long as its not getting constantly beat on with massive horsepower and torque it'll probably hold up pretty well.

Check with UMI Performance they have a great product as well.....I would also go with Moroso Trick springs on all 4 corners and lakewood dragt shocks 90/10 up front and 70/30 out back...I already have the upper/lower adjustable control arms from UMI, all I gotta do now is get the shocks/springs 8)

Jbreu, you say your running a 12 bolt? is that out of a a body? if so how tough was the modification? Thanks to u both for the info.
