Just checkin back on the progress...

Looking beyond clean! Really, really, nice work man. This stuff takes a lot more time if you do it the right way, but that's the only way to do it. Did you have any issues fitting your gauges into the a pillar pod? I'm working on one right now - not running dakota digitals - but can't see how they are gonna fit without trimming the gauges' mounting studs and brackets... the pods are too shallow.

Thanks for checkin back 😀 I had to just open the hole a lil bit on the pod with some 100 grit sand paper. The Dakota gauges are not really deep. Didnt have to touch the gauges at all...

Wow, u doing the dayum thing...man shes going to be looking clean!

Thanks bruh! Im just about finished up with the engine bay mods. Just waiting to pick up parts from Mel and install. All the painting and lil things are done good enough for a daily driver. Imma save the serious smoothing and filling in holes and custom stuff like that for the SS. The El is a simple buil., Just cleaning up and restoring a few creature comforts. Thanks for checking back bruh! I hit Pollo up about the dash wrap. He said he'd get some info on pricing for me. He also suggested your seat guy. We all know his work on the seats is ridiculously clean! Have you seen a dash done by him? I ask cuz i know how clean Oscars's dash turned out. But judging by the quality of yours and Josh's seats, he most likely has the dash wraps on lock as well. Hmmm...I'll get with you later about this...

House duties today so no car stuff...yet. LOL!

I was taking the ac/heater/ defrost ducting apart to clean out and pop!! Luckily i had my goggles on! Theres this lil vacuum pod/actuator looking part attatched to the side of center sections ducting plastic. Must have been brittle cuz it came unglued while I was backing the screws out to remove the ducting. Not sure what all was in there. I found a spring laying on the ground. Looked out of place in the shop and since it popped as hard as it did, it must have come from out of that pod. I may have to replace the center section since i dont know if theres any other parts that came flying out of there. Thats why Im taking everything apart. I gotta see whats goin on with things im restoring. Lil things like this can become a weak link in the system. Anyone know about this part? Or if the center section can be bought new? Maybe I could take it to an ac guy to replace/repair the pod actuator. I dont wanna just put the spring in, seal/glue it down and install.

I'm going to drop off your gear box to get torn apart by the gear shop....then off to the chromer. Once I get it back i'll take it back to the gear shop to be rebuilt... Did you want the pitman arm chromed to??

Yessir! Chrome the pitman arm, the bolts for the gear box and the top of the gear box that comes off. After the top gets chromed, have em lightly scuff it and lay c fiber over it and then black pearl. Should give it a c fiber anodized look. Hmmmmmm...

Preciate you bruh! 😀 I'm good on it now. I went by the Skippers cribbo and he had his still (and it has the metal actuator) 8) .Thanks again for thinkin bout me tho fam...

Did some serious clean up on the air ducting, doors and the whole system. Went thru it all. You can eat off the inside of the ac box, vac lines, everything. Greased the door hinges and they now operate smoothly. Now that I have the new center section from lil bro Skip, I'll clean it up and finish up on cleaning the wiring up. I also cleaned up the firewall area. Should be pretty fresh in there after i replace all that old sound dampening material.

Skip..After further inspection of the center section. The plastics pretty brittle on the box. The clips that secure it to the firewall are broken also. i'll cut the one you blessed me with and swap the metal actuator in. I thought it was just the small section that was cracked. Thats why we do the whole tear down of these old cars. Gotta see what may fail on you when you need it most. This will also give me a chance to see how the actuator hooks up and functions. Thanks again bro!
