Ok, called a few places that repair rear ends. They told me a posi will not fix in my rear. I know they are wrong. People here in Maryland jsut try to get your money. Also are we able to post links here from other websites. I want to show you all some items, to see if they are good.

What are you "repairing" :?: I was under the assumption that you just wanted to build a rear end :|

Go ahead and post some links

So if I decide to rebuilt my rear end, what will be the best parts to put in/on it.
I'll be using MOSER axles and c-clip eliminators. I think I'll be using the Powertrax by Richmond No-Slip Traction System. One of our rebuild kits and Royal Purple fluid

How much will all that cost me and will that be all I need?

I agree that the 7.5 will hold up to a good amount of power. I had mine rebuilt with an Auburn Carrier and Richmond 373 gears and stock axles with c-clips and had it behind a 496 BBC with around 600 horsepower. I always ran street tires, it never hooked and never broke for that reason. I got some good money for it when I sold it after I bought my 9".

Gbodys never came with 12bolts... you'll find these in larger GMs, and the older Abodys (Chevelle, GTO, Cutlass, etc...)

Gbodys came with varying 10bolts, the 7.5 (most common), 7.625 (a slightly stronger 7.5, but not really, and found in the later Monte SSs), and 8.5 (found in T-Type Regals/GNs and Hurst/442s)

I believe all 8.5s came with 3.42 gears, some were open, and some posi.
I believe the 7.5s came with all sorts of gears, some 3.73, some open, and some posi.

the 7.5 is definitly GM's most common rear, it was found in almost all their RWD lines (Abody, Bbody, Gbody, Fbody, S10 trucks, etc...)

the 8.5 came with 3.42s in the GN, and 3.73 in the 442. not sure about the ttype but I assume its 3.42 since its a turbo car.

Thanks, I am learning a lot. This is my first time restoring a car. 😀

Here are some things to consider:

...your first link for the Lock-Right Locker is designed to be used in place of your current "spider gears" that are currently residing in your carrier unit. You will not have to swap axles (your stock axles are 26 spline) but you may be limited as to what gear ratio you can run since you will be keeping your factory carrier

...the posi unit and axles may cost more in the long run but it is probably a better longivity decision. With that posi carrier, you can run any gear higher than 3.23 ratio. Plus, the 28 spline axles are said to be superior in strength compared to the 26 spline axles.
