Honestly still going back and forth about that because I keep going back and forth about putting it together with the 700r4 thats in it even though I really want to bite the bullet and go 6l80 or something l80. But my buddy keeps saying when he was at the rebuild shop that he still did a good bit of l80's so that may not be the solution eitherWhat are planning to use for engine management? I’ve probably asked this previously and have forgotten. Gettin’ old is a beetch
6L80 limits your options, and there is no need for all those gears with forced induction. A 4L80 will make you smile. Put a Holley in it and never look back.Honestly still going back and forth about that because I keep going back and forth about putting it together with the 700r4 thats in it even though I really want to bite the bullet and go 6l80 or something l80. I always thought this in my head. Glad to see I wasn't crazy.6L80 limits your options, and there is no need for all those gears with forced induction. A 4L80 will make you smile. Put a Holley in it and never look back.
2, probably for the best since I am really only finding the 4's anyways for a reasonable price. I haven't had really good luck with my Holley stuff for the Monte but know a bunch of people love their management setupsYou have a turbo or two, the power band will be wide enough to cover those two additional gears - seriously.
But do as you wish, the 6L will lock you into a factory ECU which I personally avoid like the plague.
