A GuTOo from Down Under

You have a dud set of springs Bob. What are they and where did you get them? I have a set of Pac 1205X on .630+ lift with a 232/236 with Johnson link bar short travel lifters and 3/8 pushrods and they will handle 7000 rpm's all day. And this is after 20K miles on them.

Those specs are a little light on the seat, but not that light. Is your installed height between 1.750" and 1.800"?

Keep the faith 😉

Sweet ride! I've always liked those cars. I'd like to have a Cyclone Gray 06 with a 6sd.

Have you seen the Vauxhall front end?
I like the Holden front best, but these wheels look sweet!

Very much like the Holden/Vauxhall stuff, GM made a huge mistake changing the stuff the way they did. Look so much better the way it was, 04 can be a very cool sleeper but I really hated the true dual exhaust coming out of a single side. The Coupe4 and VXR500 are my top choices

Coupe4 was AWD

AWD? Never heard of that, that's sweet!

Or is the tune not up to snuff? Is the intake not flowing enough past 5600rpm?

The dyno graph is very poorly scaled so it may look worse than it is. However, there is some weird @ss torque dip and it peaks (tq) way up there.

Hi Guys; Mr. Mclellan, so you hate all the attention! When ya drive a Holden with a Native American badge on the nose & trunk (?) you must confuse even more people than me?? I like to stand back & watch the faces of the fellow Car Nuts try & figure out what it is. You gotta consider putting the Chevy badges on it since you're a Chevy Monte owner. I'm not sure how many got badged Chevys, but they used the same Monaro grill that we have but with a round Chevy Bowtie. Mr. Anubis, you'll just have to live with the knowledge that My Holden is named GuTOo by my wife! We name many of our Outomobiles. The Star Ship a 64 Chevy wagon (no picture), the Hulk (no explanation needed), Gray Ghost (75 Monza), the Bronze Brick (9C1), the Snow Mobile (87 Lancer), my buddies 50 Chevy "Lucy" (that I helped build) & you've already seen the GuTOo. Thank you Lt1B for the Vauxhall picture. We need a picture of the Chevy version that went to the middle East.
Mr. Nail head, I just got off the phone with Comp Cams, no help yet? Their tech guy thought that these springs would do the job. They won't & don't & it looks like warranty will be a problem? I just added more mass than 438 in. lbs. rated spring can handle. I want to stay with Conical springs & they (Comp) do make one stiffer that will do the job rated @ 519 in lbs. ? They will have 495 open & 145 on the seat. Right now it's looking like I'll eat the 438's? The real problem is the 519's have an installed height of 1.9" so my new 3/8" Dia. push rods will be too long, more costs. The 438's are installed @ 1.8"! If it was easy & cheap to go fast, every body would? Back to Mclellan, I see in the land of OZ some of the Coupe4's are going for over $65,000- $100.000 & our Ole' Monaro's easily bring $30,000 & UP. Motor head Mike, myself & the tech guy @ Comp thought that these springs would do the job, As far as the tune goes the bump between 2000 & 3000 is a calibration issue I don't understand with that dyno program. And as far as the FAST 102 intake not flowing enough, Very unlikely. I'm very confident that the tune is Very Good as it made 431 HP @5600 & drives Very Nice. I ask how many guys are making 431 HP with a 209*- 217* cam, that's barley more than a OE cam 204*-213*? With hopefully a few more pony's still on the table with stiffer springs? Thank you all for the great conversation, Ole' Bob.
Ps: I'm led to believe that the Bronze Brick is on to the 3rd owner with no engine, SOOoo Sad. I see the fella that purchased it is after another Hot rod that he can enjoy for a few months before he disassembles it. And the engine builder is more than likely going to be disappointed?

I had actually kicked around the Chevy badge when I did the front bumper, here's one that will probably go over well here
