From a NON (?) bias fella it seems that it would suite your Outomible SOooo Well. Thank you for posting this info, Ole' Bob.

Greetings Guys; Not a lot new with the GuTOo - Monaro. Other than it Runn's SOOoo Well. But just to turn down the idle 50 RPM is a Pain in the Posterior. I would prefer a screw driver! I can't say enough Good about Comp Cams extending me a replacement for the over whelmed valve springs. They took into consideration that I'm Late Middle Aged OK old & slow in returning the over whelmed springs in giving me a bit or time. Another shout out, for those living around the windy City, Next Generation Performance - Robert Pickerill & his Amazing brain squeezed 431 HP & 425 Lb Ft of Twist out of this modestly camed Ls 2. But the noise this thing makes is on par with solids! So I'm glad that I have to go back in to the valve train. Maybe I didn't get one or two valves adjusted just right? But then again as I learn more about these, Fast plastic Very this Fast intake (more valve noise), Short travel Hyd lifters "0 to a 1/4 turn", I have them at 1/8 turn now. Then add a Fast Ramp cam, even thou the duration is short 209*- 217* with the .599" & .607" lift it all makes more noise than the Bronze Brick's old solid roller cam?
A new friend stopped by, he has an older similar Outomible a GTO!

Hi Micellan & all; Weight my friend. Oh money would come into the conversation too. Yes I do like the style, but not the diameter. My ole' posterior wants more side wall not less. I even put the OE rear spring s back in! Funny you mentioned these wheels as a fellow owner (not many around here) just listed his for $600 pick up with some rash. I thought about them briefly, say I could of got hem for $500? $180 each to re finish = $720 + 500 = 1220 Plus tires. Say around $900 would be $2100 Plus for additional weight. I took a pass, but I have been looking at Tire Rack for lighter wheels. 18 to 21 Lbs range with tires say around $2000. I've got 2-3 more years before I need tires, maybe I can burn the rears off by then. I want to try some 100 QTQG's next set. The drag strip is very High on my list for next May. Valve springs, Loose ends, winter storage drag strip in that order. Ole' Bob.

Hi guys; A Shout out to Comp Cams, Thank You for your help & support. As they picked up the cost of replacing my Underwhelming first choice valve springs. For those just coming in, I ordered a conical valve spring - Tool Steel retainer - seal & lock kit #7228 TS-KIT form Comp to use with my stock cam, 1.8 Comp rockers & Comp Short travel lifters. When I had the heads 5 axis ported at Wegner's here in Wisconsin their program opens up the push rod holes for 3/8" rods. Ok so I got some .080" wall rods (1.8 Grams over OE). Then when I pulled the OE lifters I didn't like what I seen on 3 of the lifters, so I called Comp & had a cam cut to utilize the parts I had already purchased. Well the 412 Lb. open springs just weren't up to the task as they let the valves float at 6000. Anyway Comp did the right thing & sent me the stiffer conical TS kit #7230 with 495 Lb open springs. I double checked the push rod length, looks good. Being Kind, not getting nasty, not blaming anyone & polity asking for help seemed the best way to go. Thank You Comp Tech & warranty Guys! Karma my friends!
Ya see that little black MAF plastic mount, well it's Junk @1500 miles. So I had to make a new one that won't warp. Square holes are the hardest, Ole' Bob.
