POR15 coat number 1

Coat 2 done. I have 2 coats on the underside also. Perfect timing as it’s above 50 degrees through the night with rain moving in. The garage is well vented and the humidity from the rain will help the curing process. POR15 is moisture activated so the humidity is needed for proper curing.

I’ve got the patch panels riveted in, all the seams sealed up and all pin holes filled. The Flex Paste works good and it’s thick enough to fill some pretty big voids. The High Teck seam sealer works good too. It’s a little thinner and spreads out easier compared to Flex Paste. The floor is rock solid throughout now. Next step is top coating with Rustoleum high heat stove paint. I’m really going to double up on this high heat paint on the underside in the areas closer to the exhaust.

Will these seat tracks slide all the way apart so I can clean them up and lubricate them? I want to make sure if they come apart they will go back together fairly easily. Bench seat

I got those seat tracks lubed up good with white lithium. They work smooth now. I cleaned the carpet too. Scrubbed it with a stiff brush using a a Simple Green solution, let it soak for a while then rinsed it extensively with a power washer. The power washer forced out an incredible amount of dirt. Gravity drained, wet dry vacuumed and sun dried.

Finished top coat of Rustoleum high heat stove paint. We’re gonna put it out in the weather and drive it in rain before putting carpet back in. Just to test where weather stripping might need work and for leaks in the floor.

Replaced the decrepit carpet padding with some salvaged from the junkyard and put the carpet back in. This chapter in 1/2 *ss improvements is done.
