A little overdue

Right rear will get by with a patch. The stainless steel patch is made from an old burnt out party warmer plate. The floor pan underneath this are looks fairly decent. Now to POR15 the crap out of inside and out before sealing seams and riveting in place

30 years from today that stainless steel patch will be the only thing left 🤣
I dunno, I'd expect galavanetic corrosion would knock out the plain metal meaning the stainless would fall off first...

You had that a while? Or something you just picked up? You know, the "car has some minor rust, but is solid" type of deal?
Had it for a while. Been fiddling with it a few years. We’re not ever expecting it to be anything close to perfect. There’s been frame repair to the rear probably from a rear end collision. Body filler all along the right side. It will always be a black primer beater that grows moss on it and catches branches as they fall out of the trees in the yard. We knew the floor board needed attention and we’re just now getting busy with it.

It’s my son’s car actually. He’s had a bunch of people ask him if he’ll sell it. He won’t. He says he never will.

looks like at least on header collector is good!
Yes, which gives me an idea. Hinged patch panels to make collector gaskets and o2 sensors accessible without jacking the car up.

I’m gonna take a piece of the heavily corroded floor board and give it a good treatment with POR15 then throw it out in the yard to see how well it lasts.
