I had a parent thank me on Tuesday.I was teaching a math lesson on Monday and heard an "ouch" response from one of my female students.Found out a male student behind her grabbed the back of her bra and snapped it.He tried to deny it and lied about about.I had 3 witnesses watch him do it and I wrote him up being sent to the principal's office.Did get 5 days out for it,his mom wasn't too happy with him at all what he did to her.This student's mom,told her and came up to me on Tuesday to thank me for what I did called taking care of it not ignoring it.I am one that doesn't ignore things.This female student has more respect for me now showing I care about her.Plus she is a great student in my math class,A and B grades.I have been there for this student,first time was when she was being teased and picked on for being a redhead by a couple male students.Wrote those two up for it too.I told her I went through the same being a redhead too teaching her to stand up for herself.

Of course the kid would lie about it. He doesn't want punishment. But good on you. Perfect example of when you give respect, more often than not you get respect. That girl is going to remember you for the rest of her life. She may even aspire to be a teacher one day because of your caring for her safety and welfare. One seemingly small act can mean a world of difference in someone's life. You never know.
Mom of the male student that did this,she was glad I wrote him up for it.He was talked to about it,said he could of been in more trouble called sexual assault charges.Principal did have the cops called too,sexual assault charges being investigated now
We need more of that. My wife teaches and when they send the kids to the principals office nothing gets done. This is her last year.
