Hey guys, Ive been thinking that in the future I would like to swap the engine out on my 83 as I would like to have more power.. I dont need anything crazy just something that will be driveable and have good get up. What size engine would you recomend? I by no means have any experience in swaps or anything of that sort. Im just your normal everyday do it yourself if I can figure it out kind of guy..I would be willing to pay for someone to do a swap for me though.. Im in the Phoenix area.. Does anyone know any shops around here that would do that? and about how much would a swap be at a shop?

I would suggest a 350 with vortec heads....you'll have decent power and fuel milage should be close to what you have now.

I can get a 350 from a buddy already built. Besides the cost of of the motor what price range am I looking at to get the job done by a shop? I wont be doing it for a while so I just need an estimate so I can save my pennies..

check with a local shop that has a good reputation and they can give you an estimate to do the job
