Background- 83 cutlass 305 - low output from alt. Long story short cause was old belts driving the a/c & p/s - since the alt belt is driven by the w/p pulley & not the crank it is important that these 2 belts are in good shape. As a last ditch measure , changed them & instant 14.7 volts
