Ok my battery doesnt charge and my lights are always very very dim. i have to let the battery charge by boosting it with another car. i think i know the problem but i dont know how to fix it. all my grounds are good but on the back of the alternator where the plug goes, (the one with the 2 wires) well the red one seems to go where it should but the blackish brownish one is twisted together with 2 other wires. im pretty sure thats not where it should go. Where should that wire lead and how to fix?

the 1 wire should go to the back of the alt. where the other wires bolt to it i do believe

im talking about the little clear piece that plugs into the back of the alt, its a red wire and a black wire leading to a clear clip that plugs in it, but the black wire has been cut and is twisted together with 2 other wires

in the other thread you started about this I asked you the following but you never replied...

Might be a dumb question but did you have the alt. checked that it is even any good or did you check it? they do go bad...

I'm wondering with the wiring if the alternator is getting excited....without that it won't charge

Ok the alt. works now after i moved a ground wire but those 3 wires are still twisted together. my alt and battery light use to be on but not any more. i still have to trace those wires and see where they lead to though. i want it to be hooked up properly. those wiring diagrams are really hard to understand to me cuz they never look like what i physically see under there.

Im havin the same problem now... I guess I shud also check my grounds

it the alternator stopped charging and if your wiring looks ok it just might be the alternator...parts stores will check your alternator for free
