I think just before he disappeared, fleming442 was having difficulties with his projects. Maybe he blew a head gasket?

I can easily sympathize with the problem our Great Admin confronts here. Unfortunately. as the site is "sanitized" it gets less interesting, and as noted, less useful.

Now I'll never know what happened with the intake manifold for his 442 ....

Since this thread will probably get cleansed as well, I'm going to go there...

I'm not going to say how I would or wouldn't react if what (allegedly) went down happened towards me the way it was claimed to have been (without any provocation or escalation by the second party). I don't know. And I'll admit to getting angry and overreacting myself at times too.

And I guess when you're the sole owner of the house you can kick anyone out of the party regardless of how helpful or popular they are to everyone else present.

But I will say there's only so many highly knowledgeable guys around with the time or interest to hang around a bulletin board. As they go elsewhere the product suffers.

Wait. It is still pretty good. Sucks that those w/knowledge sometimes press the boundaries of the rules. But, the rules are there for a reason. If people don't like them they'll likely leave or get put in 'time-out' if they continue to push those previously mentioned boundaries.

Others can & will still contribute. New members w/different knowledge & experiences are a value as well.

Also agreed. But there's some things you can only learn with time and experience. And without guys while been there and done that you lose institutional memory and guidance through where someone else has been before.

These days you can't throw a balled up tissue without hitting an 'expert' on ls-junk. But try to find someone who knows the ins and outs on early SBO. Ponchos, or buicks? Might take a while.

Any Google search throws out more efi swap gurus and info than you can shake a stick at, but finding a good qjet specialist? That takes some effort.

I guess it depends on what you're trying to cultivate. And again. I'm not advocating for being above the rules.

But I do think in most interpersonal altercations it takes two to tango, and given what I've seen through the years, my guess is that we're not dealing with a blameless conflagration here, just one where it became a so called nuclear option to win the day. (Which again. Can't say where I wouldn't have done the same, I just don't know.)
