I don't see the point in spending more than 10k on a gbody especially if its not an ero, gn, etc.
I could even find a rust gn in a back field n buy it for 2-3 g and put 3g into body and have an imaculate car and still save 3g I could use in the motor.

true....but youd never get what you spent out of it....hence the reason people pay high dollar for a low mileage car...cause it will increase its value over time...same cannot be said for a total resto on a high mile car.

That's the thing about modifying your car. You're not adding value so much as you're just paying for your own recreation. Some people take vacations to other countries, some buy bass boats and tow vehicles for them, others collect guns and go through thousands of rounds of ammo. I on the other hand put performance parts on an out-dated and obsolete car because I think it's cool and fun. And when I go to the pump for more gas, I say, "I'm paying for transportation and recreation!" 😛
And none of us will ever get that money back, but it's entertainment and to some people it's just worth it at the time.

I would pay 10 Grand.... Many of us knuckle-heads put far more into our cars than that. For having 76,000 car looks killer....

I bet you could buy it for 10K..let's face it...people aren't standing in line for Gbodies when they get over the 6K range in my opinion...could be wrong, but don't think so! Bottom line...put however much $$ you want in your car and enjoy , who cares what others think...You can't take the $$ money with you... 😀

I had a friend in Florida that had a pretty bad drug habit for a few yrs. It cost him about 50K, his marriage, his job, and a lot of his friends, before he realized it and got help. I look at my love of cars in much the same way, just less damaging to my mental/physical health and wallet.........some addictions are less harmful for us than others.....but they are addictions, none the less....

Exactly. It's okay to not spend wisely as long as realize how it's going to affect you, and know what you are going to do to make make up for it. Now to somehow explain this to my father so he won't think I'm nuts. My dad, I love him, but he's not a hot rodder.

Ask him what his favorite thing to do is....Golf? Theres a rich hobby and a complete waste of money, IMO....but it brings people happiness so they pay to play...sometimes travel to exotic places to play....just to hit a little ball with a club and wear funny clothes...lol. Seriously....we can all find things we do in life that costs more than it should and is really not smart to do, but we can afford it, it brings us joy,...so we do it. Thats why we work hard..so we can relax and spend our hard earned money as we see fit. If ya never spend it, or if you always worry that you might be wasting it...you will live a very boring, and rather sad life...again..all IMO

No, my dad likes golf, but he's not that into it. His actual favorite thing to do (lol) is to lay on the recliner with the tv remote and watch football games endlessly. I don't mind watching one football game, but my dad will literally sit there for hour upon hour watching football in the recliner, it's pretty funny. I can't sit still longer than an hour. I work on the car every chance I get. My dad doesn't mind working on the car every couple days or so, but he'd much rather be watching football.
