alright so I'm pretty much sick of my 200r4. I don't like it. I'm just looking for some ideas here, thats all. What would I need to put a 5 (or maybe even 6) speed transmission in my 87 LS? I've got a 72ish 350 4 bolt in it right now. G Force, factory floor shift ect... I'm just trying to get a few ideas about cost and such and how big of a job is it? Can I bolt a manual to a sbc with an auto or is the crank different? I'm trying to find the least costly, way to do this (right, not duck tapped and super glued  ). What can I do with my factory center console to still make it look stock? Will all the clutch pedel linkage work out of an El Camino? I found one that has all the pedels, but I don't think theres a transmission anymore. Come one guys what do you think?

cool, I'm gonna do some reading, studying, and research on this one. What about the El Camino pedal setup. Are they the same? Appreicate the help

El Camino pedals are the same as the Malibu pedals and will work if you go with a mechanical linkage. To do this, you will need the 606 G-body specific bellhousing and clutch fork - get these from the same car if possible as these parts are not easy to find anymore.

I'm on my way there this weekend to see if it's all still there. Thanks again for the help

85, that looks great - makes you wish GM / Chevy would have thought of it. Like the "Hurst Equipped" emblem too

Thanks - the only thing I wish I would have done different was doing it much sooner! A g-body with a standard trans is too much fun, GM definitely let us down by not offering it back in the day - but, we can fix that ourselves easily enough! 8)

yeah that does look real nice by the way. Same color interior....hummm, I think I need one of those shifters
